Cheryl LeBeau (aka The Cranky Yankee) is a historian and life-long New Englander. She graduated with honors from Eastern Connecticut State University with a BA in History and Social Sciences, and recently graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a MA in Public History.
Always curious about local history and the unusual, Cheryl has funneled her interests into her studies. Her subject fields include gravestone and cemetery studies, New England folklore & folklife, archives & collections management, and digital history.
An enthusiastic rock & roll fan, she enjoys attending rock shows, as well as gardening and collecting ephemera (books, postcards, photography, art). She lives in the Willimantic area with her husband Joey, two adorable hellion cats, and a corn snake named Oky.
